SUNSET BOARDWALK and ROAD PROTECTION

The only way in and out for residents is the road between beach and airport runway. It is often crowded with sea surge sand and visitor traffic blocking the road. It poses a safety risk to all Beacon Hill residents as well as visitor from jet blasts and unsafe pedestrians access.

SOLVE ROAD FLOODING

The entry road and several areas within Beacon Hill are subject to frequent flooding.  PBHA has two plans to install drains between the security hut and Sunset Beach Bar.

REMOVE D-BOAT

D-Boat was a party boat in the lagoon, that was moved to the bay during a storm, broke from it's anchor and smashed into the cliffs of Beacon Hill in early 2020.  The Lessees had no insurance. The Antigua Vessel owner disavowed any responsibility.  The St. Maarten Government got $20 million to remove sunk vessels from the Lagoon but the D-Boat is in the bay and remains resting against our cliff without a removal plan or hope.   A feature film project proposed funding for a thriller "Dead At Sea"  filmed in Beacon Hill and included enough funds to move it offshore for a reef restoration project.   Dead At Sea - When an abandoned ship wrecks on the coast of a peaceful neighborhood it creates gateway for souls lost at sea to return to land for revelry, redemption, and revenge.

ENHANCE SECURITY

The entry guard is funded by contributions to the Pride of Beacon HIll Homeowners Association.  Based on the funding the guard is currently 10PM to 6AM.  We would like to have two guards from 6PM to 6AM, one at the hut and one roaming guard patrolling the roads, escorting folks home, and following suspicious vehicles

Neighborhood BEAUTIFICATION

Our entry area between our neighorhood sign and the security hut is available for planting triple Manila palms like the other side of the runway.  We have boulders and some palms already donated but need funds for an excavator to relocate the boulders and palms, as well as to bring in fill soil and landscape lighting.  This project has been held back until drainage on the road is solved but plants may help with groundwater absorption.   Anyone interested in a gardening club?

HURRICANE PREPARATION AND CLEANUP

We are always looking for neighbors with 4WD vehicles, chain saws, and other equipment to help with evacuation of senior or disabled neighbors as well as clearing road debris after storms.  During IRMA neighbors removed over 7,000 pounds of debris from our beach, nails, screws and other sharp objects that would make the beach unwalkable today.  Most of the debris was from boats washing across the runway from the lagoon to the bay.
